2027 Toyota Crown: New Hybrid Performance and Styling
The 2027 Toyota Crown lineup returns with updated exterior styling, enhanced hybrid performance, and new driver-focused features. Available in Limited and Platinum grades, the Crown continues to combine the comfort and refinement of a premium sedan with the elevated seating position and confident stance of a crossover.
For 2027, the Toyota Crown Limited receives Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system, known as THS 5, along with standard paddle shifters for a more responsive and engaging driving experience. The Crown also receives refreshed exterior styling, including a newly sculpted rear bumper, updated badging, glossy black accents, and a new black exterior colour called Inked.
The top-tier Platinum grade continues to offer the more powerful Hybrid MAX system, producing 340 net combined horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque.
These updates give Crown drivers more choice between efficiency and performance. The Limited grade is designed to deliver smooth acceleration and strong fuel economy, while the Platinum grade offers substantially more power and advanced suspension technology for drivers seeking a sportier experience.
The refreshed design also gives the Crown a more premium and contemporary appearance without changing the distinctive elevated sedan profile that separates it from conventional sedans and SUVs.
The 2027 Toyota Crown Limited is powered by a 2.5-litre engine paired with Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system and electronic on-demand all-wheel drive. Toyota estimates combined fuel consumption at 5.9 L/100 km. Newly standard paddle shifters allow drivers to take a more active role in the driving experience.
The Crown Platinum features the Hybrid MAX powertrain, combining a 2.4-litre turbocharged engine with electric motors and a six-speed automatic transmission. The system generates 340 net combined horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque.
The Platinum grade also includes Adaptive Variable Suspension, Full-Time Electronic All-Wheel Drive, Dynamic Rear Steering, and five selectable drive modes. Its available REAR COMFORT mode adjusts suspension damping to help create a smoother ride for passengers in the back seats.
Exterior updates include a newly sculpted rear bumper, revised satin-finish hybrid and all-wheel-drive badging, and new glossy black details. The Platinum grade adds red brake calipers and a black window surround, while the new Inked paint colour joins the available exterior colour selection.
Every 2027 Crown includes a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 12.3-inch Toyota Multimedia touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, over-the-air updates, dual Bluetooth® phone connectivity, and an 11-speaker JBL® Premium Audio system are also standard.
Both grades include leather-trimmed seating, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, a wireless charging pad, and multiple USB-C ports.
A fixed panoramic roof and Panoramic View Monitor are also standard. The Platinum grade adds a Head-Up Display, power-adjustable steering column, hands-free power trunk, and Advanced Park.
Every 2027 Toyota Crown comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. Available and standard driver-assistance features include Lane Change Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, Front Cross-Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking.
Digital Key capability is also available on both grades with an active Remote Connect trial or subscription.
The 2027 Toyota Crown is designed for drivers who want the comfort and premium features of a sedan without giving up an elevated driving position or standard all-wheel drive. The Limited grade may appeal most to commuters and long-distance drivers focused on efficiency, while the Platinum grade is better suited to buyers looking for stronger acceleration and more advanced handling technology.
With refreshed styling, upgraded hybrid technology, and two distinct performance options, the 2027 Toyota Crown Canada lineup continues to offer a unique alternative to traditional premium sedans and crossovers. The Limited grade emphasizes efficiency and everyday comfort, while the Platinum delivers significantly more power through its Hybrid MAX system.
