What are the precautionary measures taken at Kanata Toyota when I come in for service?

At the service drive-thru, we have undertaken new protocols to ensure the safety of our clients and employees. As you approach the service drive-thru, the doors will open. Your first contact will be with our greeter, Tony featured in the video, who will be wearing gloves (changed after every car) and a mask. Once you park you will be asked to put your keys in a bag where it will stay for the duration of your visit.

Once you exit the vehicle the common areas inside your vehicle will be given a sanitizing wipe down. This includes:
– Door handles (inside and out)
– Seat controls (on the side or below the driver’s seat)
– Seat belt and seat belt buckles
– Steering Wheel
– Center Console
– Steering wheel mounted controls
– Shifter
– Park brake lever/control
– Start Button (if equipped)

Once these steps are complete, our Service Advisor will complete a walk-through around your vehicle. He will meet you back at the counter (reorganized to ensure 6′ distance) to discuss any issues that need to be addressed.

Do I have to wear a mask?

As per Ottawa Public Health’s Temporary Mandatory Mask by-law individuals must wear a mask or a face covering in indoor public places. The mask should securely cover your nose, mouth and chin. Children under 2 and people unable to wear a mask for medical reasons are exempt.

Do I have to wait at the dealership while my car is in service?

As your car goes into the shop, you can choose to wait in the waiting area created within the dealership for service customers only. The chairs are set up keeping Ottawa Public Health’s physical distancing guidelines in mind. As always, you can connect with the free WI-FI while you wait.  For safety concerns, we have not restarted our shuttle service yet.
